Multi Fuel Stoves | The Wedge

The Wedge | Multifuel Stove

A multi-fuel space heater, evolved from the Little Devil design.

The advantages of re-shaping the traditional box are numerous: tilting the square shape at 45 degrees allows for much fuller loading, while the angled front makes for easier and safer access.

The fuel charge is always collapsing to the centre of the stove.

The biggest innovation with the Wedge is the 'split baffle'. This works the flame path harder for a more complete burn, and by 'splitting' or opening the baffle to the room we gain another 20% of surface area.

It also means the plates won't burn out, as they would if enclosed completely in the firebox.

We also take the opportunity of perforating the bottom of the baffle, to introduce extra air for re-combustion (i.e. secondary burn).

WEDGE BOILER ... sturdy fellow designed and built for Alan Dawson's beautifully engineered 'Adaptahaus'; featured on Channel 4's  'Grand Designs' in October 2010 ...

Wedge woodburning stove installed in the Adaptahaus in Cumbria

... the boiler version of the WEDGE.  The fire chamber is basically a tilted box, double-skinned as a water jacket; the open baffle is replaced with a connecting baffle boiler.

The stove performs a similar function to the SUMO boiler, but is slightly more compact. It provides an exceptionally high proportion of heat to water (approximately 80%)

We offer this boiler in various sizes:  20, 25, 40 and even 80kws.

The 80kw version is powerful enough to heat a swimming pool!

All dimensions can be varied to suit.

All stoves built in heavy gauge steel, fully welded.
"Robax" glass door panels included.
